How would I improve Richmond

In the last ten years Ive been here I have seen a lot of things that could make Richmond a better place to live and visit. A couple of things that I seen that could be improved is the housing and the transportation.
When we moved here in 1997, my family moved into Chesterfield there was no way to get around unless you had a car or if you knew someone. I think that if Richmond expanded there bus routes into the county people can found better jobs and be able to afford better housing. The city is tearing down all the affordable houses and doesn't want the inner city to branch out. There are no malls in the city and the only mall that you could catch the bus to is closing. So how does the mayor expect the inner city to improve when they are closing them in.
The other issue is the housing. All of the affordable housing in Richmond is being tore down or no one wants to live in certain places because of the drugs and violence in the area. There are no jobs in the inner city and this is where most people live. The people are moving out of the counties and back into the city and remodeling the run down areas, moving out the low-income families, and raising the cost of living. In Richmond there are a lot of corner store that I believe is a set up to our society. When you go into the better neighborhoods you might get lucky if you see a 7-11. Richmond does have a lot of opportunities to be able to find housing, but if you don't have the resources or a ride then you stuck.
Those changes can be made if the mayor puts more focus on the issues of the people and not trying to improve the parking lots in Shokco Bottom. I think that the mayor is not doing his job he wants the employment percentage to go down but not putting jobs in the city that people can qualify for. He is trying to make the city a tourist attaction. But these changes can be done if more people stick together.

Corie-
The best part of your essay is when you directly answer the question. In the second paragraph you suggest more bus service. After that, you discuss the issues with a reasonable amount of detail. But you never return to responding to the prompt. All your points are legitimate, just spend more time telling me how you suggest solving the problems with housing, jobs, the mayor, and corner stores.
See you tonight,
